dc.description.abstractEl proyecto se centró en el desarrollo de un prototipo de sistema de monitoreo para la detección de eventos de síncope en el entorno doméstico. El síncope es una condición médica que implica la pérdida temporal de conciencia debido a la disminución del flujo sanguíneo cerebral. El enfoque principal fue la creación de un sistema basado en sensores fisiológicos y de imagen, diseñado para monitorear la posición corporal y la frecuencia cardíaca en tiempo real, y emitir alertas automáticas ante la detección de síntomas de síncope. Este sistema se implementó utilizando tecnologías de comunicación inalámbrica y procesamiento de datos. El trabajo incluyó el diseño conceptual y funcional del sistema, la selección de componentes electrónicos, y la integración de módulos de sensores de frecuencia cardíaca, cámaras y microcontroladores. Se realizaron pruebas del prototipo en un ambiente controlado, obteniendo un margen de error en la detección de eventos de ±5%, lo que confirma la precisión del sistema. Adicionalmente, se validó la capacidad del sistema para funcionar de manera continua durante 16 horas con una sola carga de batería, cumpliendo con los requisitos de autonomía.  El proyecto logró la implementación exitosa de un sistema de monitoreo eficiente y accesible, que podría contribuir significativamente a mejorar la seguridad y el seguimiento de pacientes con riesgo de sufrir síncope.
