Abstract
Optoelectronics oscillators are high spectral purity carrier generators. This article presents the implementation results of two optical injection locked VCSEL-based optoelectronic oscillators at 10 GHz and 12 GHz with phase noise values of -105.7dBc/Hz and -95.4dBc/Hz, respectively, at 10 kHz offset. The optical injection locking technique (OIL) is applied to a Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) to enhance its direct modulation bandwidth. The time domain carrier stability is measured through the Allan standard deviation. © 2019 IEEE.
