El presente proyecto pretende integrar los elementos vocales del neo - soul interpretado por Erykah Badu, junto con el rock de Charly García y The Beatles, mediante un proceso de investigación-creación, el cual consiste en realizar un estudio que tiene como fin, generar un producto creativo (Daza Cuartas, 2009). El contenido de este trabajo se basa en explorar la interpretación de un repertorio ya conocido en la escena del rock clásico, al tiempo que plantea generar un aporte a cantantes y estudiantes en proceso de formación, que deseen aprender las características vocales e interpretativas del neo-soul, siendo útil también para quienes estén interesados en integrar dos géneros musicales desde el aspecto vocal. La metodología utilizada para la realización del presente proyecto involucró principalmente los procesos de observación y documentación, realizando los siguientes pasos: Investigación y contextualización de los temas a tratar, audición y selección de repertorio de rock de Charly García, The Beatles y Erykah Badu en conjunto con transcripciones y análisis de repertorio, para finalizar con el desarrollo del producto creativo y las conclusiones. Como resultado de esta investigación, surgieron dos arreglos y una composición, en los cuales se quiso integrar el groove de piano, propio del neo-soul, junto con las características vocales de Erykah Badu, conservando algunas de las sonoridades pertenecientes a los repertorios escogidos de Charly García y The Beatles. El primer arreglo corresponde a la canción I want you de la agrupación The Beatles; el segundo, al tema Fanky, del cantante, pianista y compositor Charly García. Finalmente, se llegó a la creación de una composición de neo-soul rock llamada Sunflower, en la cual se aplicó toda la información obtenida durante el proceso creativo, conservando aspectos como la armonía, el groove y las voces del neo-soul, acompañados de las sonoridades del rock clásico. El resultado fue el esperado con respecto a la melodía que se buscaba mediante la integración del rock clásico con las características vocales del neo-soul, dando como título alegórico a la mezcla de dichos géneros en este proyecto: “Rock clásico vestido de neo-soul”.

Abstract
The objective of this project consists of the integration of vocal characteristics in the Neo-soul interpreted by Erykah Badu, preserving musical elements inside the rock of Charly Garcia and The Beatles. This research-creation project will give a different possibility of interpretation about old songs of classic rock, as well as be useful for singers who want to learn about the vocal and interpretative characteristics of Neo-soul, besides, it can be useful for people who are interested in integrating in making musical arrangements performers, vocals, instrumentalists, students in training, teachers and/or music professionals. This project is research-creation, that kind of investigation consists of research in order to generate a creative product. The methodology used to carry out this project was based in this steps; Research and contextualization of the topics to be discussed, audition and repertoire selection, rock by Charly Garcia, The Beatles and Neo-soul, transcriptions and repertoire analysis, creative product development and final conclusions. As a result of this investigation, two arrangements and one composition, integrating the piano groove characteristic of Neo-soul together with the vocal characteristics of Erykah Badu, preserving some of the sounds of Charly Garcia and The Beatles in the respective chosen repertoire. The first arrangement is of the song "I want you" by the group The Beatles, second arrangement is “Fanky” from Charly Garcia, singer, pianist and composer. Finally, one composition called Sunflower is, were applied all the information obtained during the creative process, being a Neo-soul/rock composition, preserves aspects such as harmony, groove and neo-voices soul, also based on classic rock sounds The result was as expected in terms of the sound that was wanted to be achieved through the integration of classic rock with Neo-soul, giving the name to this project, Classic rock dressed in Neo-soul as an allegory to the mixture of those sounds.
