dc.description.abstractEl violinista en el tejado es una obra musical que narra la historia de Tevye, un lechero judío que vive en el pueblo de Anatevka en Rusia. Tevye lucha por mantener las tradiciones de su fe y cultura en medio de los cambios sociales y políticos que están transformando el mundo a su alrededor. La historia se centra en su relación con sus cinco hijas, tres de las cuales rompen con las costumbres tradicionales al casarse por amor en lugar de seguir los matrimonios concertados que son típicos en su comunidad. Mientras Tevye lidia con los conflictos familiares, también enfrenta la creciente persecución de los judíos por parte del gobierno ruso.
dc.description.abstractenglishFiddler on the Roof is a musical work that tells the story of Tevye, a Jewish milkman who lives in the village of Anatevka in Russia. Tevye struggles to maintain the traditions of her faith and culture in the midst of the social and political changes that are transforming the world around her. The story focuses on her relationship with her five daughters, three of whom break with traditional customs by marrying for love rather than following the arranged marriages that are typical in their community. As Tevye grapples with family conflicts, he also faces the Russian government's increasing persecution of Jews.
