In this paper we argue that the mereological approach to quantum phenomena supplies an interesting viewpoint in two senses. On the one hand, ii allows us to formulate the questions of quantum holism or non-separability more clearly from an ontological viewpoint. On the other hand, it makes clear how some of the main criti-cisms to the classical mereological approach are based on an ontological prejudice. We argue that, to a large extent, the problems of both theories rely on an uncritical assumption, which consists in endowing the notion of individual with absolute prio-rity in the ontology.eng
