dc.description.abstractAsegura Mario Vargas Llosa que escribir es, ante todo, un acto de rebelión contra la realidad. Esa que se va por las ventanas de los buses que nos llevan de un lado para otro, aquella que se escurre por entre los muros de los centros comerciales donde la moneda común es nuestro tiempo, por los espejos en los que apenas nos contemplamos, por las pupilas de los otros a quienes apenas notamos, por los teclados y las pantallas que ahora –siempre– habitan nuestras manos, realidad efímera porque siempre estamos apurados, preocupados, distraídos, procurando vivir vertiginosamente; impulsados por un frenesí agotador e implacable. Creo que a esa realidad se refiere Vargas Llosa, una ante la cual resulta vital rebelarnos. Pero, ¿cómo?, ¿cómo resistir esa vorágine de afanes?, ¿cómo sobreponerse a la embestida de las voces que nos dicen que no tenemos tiempo?, ¿cómo soportar las miradas de aquellos que nos juzgan por no mantener el paso? Escribiendo, dice Vargas Llosa, escribiendo. Y fue así: escribiendo, como durante el primer semestre del año 2016, al interior del Seminario del Laboratorio de Pensamiento y Lenguajes (LPL) surgió la iniciativa de abrir el primer concurso de cuento de la Universidad El Bosque. Así fue como los relatos escritos por compañeros docentes y por estudiantes nos permitieron, aunque con prudencia, lanzar la iniciativa. Estudiantes, administrativos y docentes respondieron al llamado de una convocatoria abierta a toda la comunidad universitaria. Fruto de ello, tenemos este quinto número de la Colección Entre Letras, que reúne diez cuentos de los más destacados de tantas y tantas historias escritas en El Bosque. Así, estos relatos existen para ver a los otros a través de sus historias, porque también de eso estamos hechos: de historias.spa

The one that goes through the windows of the buses that take us from one place to another, the one that slips through the walls of shopping centers where the common currency is our time, because of the mirrors in which we barely contemplate ourselves, for the pupils of others whom we barely notice, through the keyboards and screens that now –always– inhabit our hands, an ephemeral reality because we are always in a hurry, worried, distracted, trying to live vertiginously; powered by a grueling and relentless frenzy. I think Vargas Llosa is referring to that reality, one to which it is vital to rebel. But how? How to resist this whirlwind of cares? How to overcome the onslaught of the voices that tell us that we do not have time? How to bear the gaze of those who judge us for not keeping up? Writing, says Vargas Llosa, writing. And it was like this: writing, as during the first semester of 2016, within the Seminar of the Laboratory of Thought and Languages (LPL), the initiative to open the first story contest of the El Bosque University arose. This is how the stories written by fellow teachers and students allowed us, albeit with prudence, to launch the initiative. Students, administrators and teachers answered the call for a call open to the entire university community. As a result, we have this fifth issue of the Entre Letras Collection, which brings together ten stories of the most outstanding of so many stories written in El Bosque.
