dc.description.abstractLa creación de una herramienta pedagógica para la detección temprana de Delirium en Unidades de Cuidado Intensivo enfocado hacia profesionales de la salud en formación, específicamente, estudiantes de séptimo semestre de pregrado de la Universidad El Bosque, se basa en una necesidad de intervención frente a la problemática de la baja tasa de detección. Se ha reportado en la literatura, que alrededor del 12% de los pacientes en UCI llegan a ser evaluados para un diagnóstico temprano de delirium, dentro de las razones, se explica que el personal de la UCI no cuenta con un conocimiento y entrenamiento adecuado del tema (1). Este proyecto se establece con el propósito de crear y estandarizar una herramienta de enseñanza para el personal de salud en formación que permita un enfoque correcto de esta entidad patológica que afecta en un 41 y 87% de los adultos mayores que se encuentran en UCI y usualmente es subdiagnosticado (2). La propuesta de este protocolo está basado en una prueba piloto con un modelo de aprendizaje de E-learning para el análisis y diagnóstico de Delirium, aplicada en la población a estudio, fortaleciendo así conocimientos previamente adquiridos dentro del plan de estudios académico y por tanto a futuro, logren identificar y tratar eficazmente esta entidad.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe creation of a teaching tool for the early detection of Delirium in Intensive Care Units focused on health professionals in training, specifically, seventh semester undergraduate students at Universidad El Bosque, is based on a need for intervention against the problem of low detection rate, as reported in the literature, where only 12% of ICU patients are evaluated for early diagnosis of Delirium, such results showed that the ICU staff does not have adequate knowledge and training for this (1). This project is established with the purpose of creating and standardizing a teaching tool that allows a correct and early diagnosis of a pathological entity that affects between 41 and 87% of older adults in the ICU and is usually underdiagnosed (2). The proposal of this protocol is based on a pilot test with an E-learning learning model for the analysis and diagnosis of Delirium, applied in the selected population, thus strengthening knowledge previously acquired within the academic curriculum and therefore, in the future, they will be able to identify and effectively treat this entity
