Over time, significant progress has been made in the composition and development of cosmetic formulations to improve and guarantee high quality standards, but challenges remain in predicting material behavior throughout the manufacturing process. Also, increasing consumer requirements and specifications have led to the incorporation of non-synthetic substances and certain ingredients, without affecting compliance with minimum standards, while retaining the functionality and attractiveness of an effective cosmetic product. Therefore, the paper describes through a search and collection of information the impact of rheological properties in the design of semi-solid and solid cosmetic products, where the application of rheology as a study of material behavior, offers understanding in the development and optimization of processes that make it possible to improve the quality of products, and at the same time in the final controls.
