Recent reported studies define dental caries as a multifactor disease resulting from an imbalance between the dental surface and biofilm. The ICCMSTM focuses on oral health outcomes presenting a sequence to be followed in order to obtain a more accurate caries management. It aims at preventing new caries lesions, hindering current ones from advancing and preserving dental structure with conservative approaches for hard dental tissues. It incorporates non-surgical treatments for early-stage caries and conservative surgical procedures in more advanced and severe stages. To describe how the ICCMSTM system is used in clinical practice. Six patients were assessed with ages from 20 to 43 years with a clinical examination, radiographs and initial photographs. The ICDAS and ICCMS™ systems were used for diagnosis, standardized management and periodic controls in order to evaluate the patient evolution. Risk factors in patients were managed with ICCMS™ and coordinate with periodic preventive controls. ICCMS™ is effective for a precise and standardised caries diagnosis - as well as an integral patient management - allowing control of risk factors, periodic monitoring of each case and re-evaluation of its integral personal and clinical component.
