dc.description.abstractLa erosión dental es una de las alteraciones más frecuentes y en aumento en la población. Es una patología de origen multifactorial, silenciosa donde los factores individuales y de estilo de vida tienen gran importancia y estudios indican una prevalencia creciente de esta que afecta a la población joven y adulta. Para evitar una mayor progresión, es fundamental detectar esta condición lo antes posible; por tanto, el profesional de la salud oral debe reforzar conocimientos para identificar la apariencia clínica y los posibles signos de las lesiones erosivas. Esto con el fin de lograr administrar tratamientos preventivos y restaurativos de naturaleza mínimamente invasiva, manteniendo un seguimiento postratamiento. A pesar de numerosos estudios sigue siendo necesario realizar más investigaciones para forjar una mejor comprensión del tema. Esta revisión se llevó a cabo utilizando las bases de datos MEDLINE vía Pubmed y Science Direct.spa
dc.description.abstractenglishDental erosion is one of the most frequent and rapidly increasing dental alterations among the population. It is a multi-factor, silent pathology where individual factors and lifestyle have great importance and studies indicate an increasing prevalence which affects young and adult population. In order to deter its progression, it is fundamental to detect it as soon as possible; therefore, the health professional must strengthen its knowledge in order to identify the clinical aspects and possible signs of erosive lesions. The aim is to administer minimally invasive preventive and restorative treatments and maintain a post-treatment follow-up. Even though there are numerous studies, it is still necessary to carry out further research in order to forge a better understanding of the topic. This revision was done using MEDLINE database via Pubmed and Science Direct.eng
