dc.description.abstractenglish | Currently, there is diverse and non-specific literature that allows us to investigate HIV and its relationship with the development of different autoimmune diseases. It has been shown that elevation of IL-6 is especially related to the development of de novo autoimmune diseases in patients suffering from this infection. Furthermore, it has been possible to determine which are the most common autoimmune diseases that these patients can develop (psoriasis, sarcoidosis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylarthritis, Graves disease, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, immune thrombocytopenia) and how treatment with antiretrovirals such as TARGA has not been significantly demonstrated to have a direct relationship with the development of these diseases; however, its pathophysiological relationship with the development of autoimmune diseases cannot be completely ruled out. Finally, it is suggested to carry out studies that complement and determine what the pathophysiological mechanism really is, from the molecular bases involved in the development of these diseases, to achieve a better understanding of the pathophysiological process and therefore be able to determine what would be the best way to prevent the development and treat these diseases in these patients.
