dc.description.abstractEl estudio de las ciudades y sus fenómenos sociales se ha llevado a cabo históricamente desde un "enfoque disciplinar clásico" por áreas como la sociología, la psicología, la antropología y el urbanismo. Sin embargo, en los últimos años se ha evolucionado hacia un enfoque multidisciplinar en el que intervienen otras áreas como las ciencias computacionales, los sistemas complejos y la ciencia de redes. Por ejemplo, un área de interés dentro de este nuevo enfoque es el estudio del tejido social en las ciudades. En este trabajo estudiamos este fenómeno y presentamos un modelo conceptual para establecer la relación entre el tejido social y otros fenómenos de la ciudad (segregación y encuentros). A continuación, utilizando una abstracción de tres capas propuesta, somos capaces de asociar comportamientos emergentes a los agentes sociales y a la ciudad física. Finalmente, derivamos un modelo basado en agentes y un caso de estudio para la ciudad de Zapopan en México donde históricamente se han identificado problemas relacionados con el tejido social y la segregación social. Basados en simulaciones y evidencia empírica concluimos que la percepción de la ciudad física afecta la toma de decisiones en movilidad y la consecuente segregación ambas relacionadas con el tejido social.spa
dc.description.abstractenglishThe study of cities and their social phenomena have been carried out historically from a “classical focused discipline approach” by areas such as sociology, psychology, anthropology, and urbanism. However, over the past years this has evolved to a multidisciplinary approach with other areas being involved including computational sciences, complex systems, and network science. For instance, an area of interest within this new approach is the study of social fabric in cities. In this work, we study this phenomenon and present a conceptual model to establish the relationship between social fabric and other city phenomena (segregation and encounters). Then by using a proposed three layer abstraction we are able to associate emergent behaviors to social agents and the physical city. Finally, we derive an agent-based model and a study case for the city of Zapopan in Mexico where problems related to the social fabric and social segregation has been historically identified. Based on simulations and empirical evidence we conclude that the perception of the physical city affects the decision-making in mobility and the consequent segregation both related to social fabric.eng
