A sample of 16 workers was made in 2 recycling warehouses. The gathering of the information was made through a previously validated instrument and used in a study made in the municipality of San Andrés de Tumaco – Nariño which contained sociodemographic, socioeconomics, of health and work variables. Results: All the population with a main task such as recyclers, 93,75% of the workers are family heads, responsible for their maintenance and the others in charge, the work shift of this population is of 6 days a week, all the population belong to the subsidized regime and they are not affiliated to the SGSSI. Regarding the work accidents, 80% showed lesions because of injuries in the most affected part of the body, the hands and the cause of the accident was mostly because of cutting. The workers believe that their place of work is a safe place and 87,5% uses some type of element of personal protection.
