Methodology: This is a cross-sectional correlational study based on self-report questionnaires with information collected from university students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the Universidad El Bosque. Findings: It was found that there is a positive association between the use of Instagram and TikTok with compulsive shopping, the use of these networks and spending in physical establishments. However, there is no association between social network use and volume of online or physical shopping. Implications: The results of this study are useful in highlighting the effectiveness of marketing strategies based on the use of social media. However, educational institutions should be aware of the consequences of overexposure to social media on student's mental health.application/pdfesAtribución-NoComercial-CompartirIgual 4.0 InternacionalRedes socialesCompras compulsivasConsumoInstagramFacebookTikTok382Influencia de las redes sociales en los patrones de consumo de estudiantes de la Universidad El BosqueTesis/Trabajo de grado - Monografía - PregradoSocial networksCompulsive shoppingConsumptionInstagramFacebookTikTokinstname:Universidad El Bosquereponame:Repositorio Institucional Universidad El Bosquerepourl:https://repositorio.unbosque.edu.coInfluence of social networks on the consumption patterns of students at El Bosque University.Acceso abiertoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess
