AbstractIt was designed and implemented a prototype aquaponic system for the exploitation and treatment of nutrients wastes from the fish farming process in order to use them as basis for productive crop in the “Hacienda La Cosmopolitana”. Initially the system was tested with a filtration plant, Pistia stratiotes, in order to pass to a productive plant like Solanum lycopersicum, commonly known as cherry tomatoes. This project was due to design and create a route water recirculation, identifying the filtering and productive plants (Pistia stratiotes and Solanum lycopersicum ) and the measurements of physical and chemical variables of the water to find the optimal values for crop production.
