he Department of Bioethics of the University El Bosque is pleased to present to the academic community and society interested in the field volume 14(1) of the Colombian Journal of Bioethics, from the period January-June 2019. This issue includes a research paper, six reflection articles, two review articles and three papers, some of them papers presented during the XXIV International Bioethics Seminar: Bioethics Committees: Technocracy or democracy?, held at the El Bosque University in Bogota on August 17 and 18, 2018.
