| dc.description | Biology has sought from its beginnings a theoretical and interpretive framework, which allows to account for the phenomenon of life, at a general level, and of organisms at a specific level. Traditionally, the generality of the living has preoccupied philosophers, while the specificities have been the subject of empirical investigation by biologists. The fundamental problem has been to reconcile the data of empirical experience with a vision of life that operates and manifests itself in accordance with laws, the nature of which has been the subject of constant debate among biologists and philosophers. While, on the other hand, discourses have been validated that reduce biological explanations to genes that vary at random and natural selection, to the detriment of the autonomy of organisms. A perspective that throughout much of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries has shown to be insufficient to explain the plastic and complex dynamics of the living world, exuberant of processes that intertwine according to patterns or regularities Jacob von Uexküll exposed by postulating a law of coherence and functional concatenation between the constituent organic parts and the organism, and between organisms and their environments. | en-US |
| dc.description | La biología ha buscado desde sus comienzos un marco teórico e interpretativo, que permita dar cuenta del fenómeno de la vida, a un nivel general, y de los organismos a un nivel específico. Tradicionalmente, la generalidad de lo viviente ha preocupado a los filósofos, mientras que las especificidades han sido objeto de investigación empírica por parte de los biólogos. El problema fundamental ha sido compaginar los datos de la experiencia empírica con una visión de la vida que opera y se manifiesta de acuerdo con leyes, cuya naturaleza ha sido tema de debate constante entre biólogos y filósofos. Mientras que, por otra parte, se han validado discursos que reducen las explicaciones biológicas a genes que varían al azar y la selección natural, en menoscabo de la autonomía de los organismos. Perspectiva que a lo largo de gran parte de los siglos xix y xx, ha mostrado ser insuficiente para explicar la dinámica plástica y compleja del mundo viviente, exuberante de procesos que se entrelazan de acuerdo con patrones cuyas regularidades Jacob von Uexküll explicó postulando una ley de coherencia y concatenación funcional entre las partes orgánicas constitutivas y el organismo, y, entre los organismos y sus medioambientes. | es-ES |
