| dc.description.abstract | Este estudio analizará el proceso de internacionalización de startups tecnológicas basadas en inteligencia artificial (IA) en países emergentes entre 2021 y 2024. La investigación parte de la pregunta: ¿Cómo logran las startups basadas en inteligencia artificial en países emergentes superar las barreras institucionales y económicas para internacionalizarse en el periodo 2021–2024?, con el propósito de entender las estrategias y factores que posibilitan su inserción en mercados globales. Este documento se fundamenta teóricamente en enfoques sobre internacionalización tecnológica y ecosistemas de innovación. Identificando cuatro etapas principales: desarrollo local orientado a nichos, validación del producto, expansión regional Sur-Sur y escalamiento global apalancado por alianzas estratégicas y aceleradoras. Entre los factores clave destacan la infraestructura digital (como la computación en la nube y software abierto), la disponibilidad de talento técnico, el apoyo institucional y las redes de diáspora. Metodológicamente, se aplicó un enfoque cualitativo con una revisión sistemática de literatura indexada (2021-2024), análisis de estudios de caso (Kavak, Flutterwave, MAX.ng, Zenvia), y un marco analítico basado en el modelo TOE (Tecnología–Organización–Entorno). Esta investigación permite una mejor comprensión del papel de la IA como palanca de desarrollo y expansión en regiones tradicionalmente periféricas, evidenciando rutas emergentes de internacionalización digital. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This study analyzes the internationalization process of technology startups based on artificial intelligence (AI) in emerging countries between 2021 and 2024. The research is guided by the question: How do AI- based startups in emerging countries overcome institutional and economic barriers to internationalize during the 2021–2024 period? with the aim of understanding the strategies and factors that enable their entry into global markets. This document is theoretically grounded in approaches related to technological internationalization and innovation ecosystems, identifying four main stages: niche-oriented local development, product validation, South–South regional expansion, and global scaling leveraged through strategic alliances and accelerators. Key enabling factors include digital infrastructure (such as cloud computing and open-source software), availability of technical talent, institutional support, and diaspora networks. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative approach, applying a systematic review of indexed literature (2021–2024), case study analysis (Kavak, Flutterwave, MAX.ng, Zenvia), and an analytical framework based on the TOE model (Technology–Organization–Environment). This research contributes to a better understanding of the role of AI as a lever for development and expansion in traditionally peripheral regions, revealing emerging pathways of digital internationalization. | |
