Resumen
Este estudio, presenta una revisión de la literatura sobre la enfermería escolar como un pilar fundamental en la promoción de la salud y la prevención de la enfermedad dentro del entorno educativo. Se ha identificado una carencia en la implementación de protocolos basados en evidencia científica, déficit de rutas de atención claramente establecidas y una capacitación insuficiente del personal de enfermería en este ámbito.
Esta investigación busca entonces, determinar el estado actual de la literatura relacionada con el componente de enfermería escolar a nivel nacional e internacional y de esta manera, identificar tendencias, hallazgos clave y áreas que requieran de mayor profundización o investigación dentro del mismo; por otro lado, analizar el impacto de enfermería en el contexto escolar en la promoción de la salud y la prevención de la enfermedad, evaluando su rol en la detección y manejo de problemas de salud, su contribución a la educación sanitaria y las barreras que limitan su implementación como son: la carencia de recursos por un lado y por otro, una regulación no uniforme las cuales impiden una cobertura plena y eficaz de los servicios de enfermería escolar en todas las instituciones educativas. La labor del personal de enfermería en las instituciones educativas no solo beneficia a los estudiantes, sino que, también fortalece la comunicación entre las familias, el cuerpo docente y el equipo administrativo, generando espacios más seguros y saludables. Además, la capacitación de pedagogos y cuidadores permite detectar con mayor precisión riesgos y necesidades en salud lo que facilita la puesta en marcha de programas de prevención e integración con el sistema de salud que favorecen una atención integral y continua para la comunidad educativa.
A través del análisis de normativas y literatura tanto nacional como internacional, este estudio examina el impacto de la enfermería escolar en la atención primaria en salud, la identificación temprana de patologías y la educación en hábitos saludables. Asimismo, se analizan las barreras estructurales, políticas y administrativas que dificultan la consolidación de este servicio dentro de los establecimientos educativos.
Los hallazgos de esta revisión evidencian que la enfermería escolar desempeña un papel clave en la reducción de la morbilidad infantil y adolescente, la optimización de la respuesta ante emergencias sanitarias y el fortalecimiento de estrategias de prevención. Con base en estos resultados, se plantean acciones dirigidas a la implementación efectiva de la enfermería escolar, garantizando su integración con el sistema de salud y el sector educativo.
En última instancia, este proyecto no solo busca resaltar la importancia de la enfermería en el ámbito escolar, sino también abogar por su incorporación permanente y estructurada en las instituciones educativas. De esta manera, se contribuirá al desarrollo de generaciones más saludables, informadas y preparadas para afrontar los desafíos de cada etapa de su vida, al tiempo que se reforzará la capacidad de respuesta de la comunidad ante las necesidades de salud y bienestar.

Abstract
This study presents a review of the literature on school nursing as a fundamental pillar in health promotion and disease prevention within the educational environment. It has been identified a lack in the implementation of protocols based on scientific evidence, deficit of clearly established care routes and insufficient training of nursing staff in this area.
This research seeks then, to determine the current state of the literature related to the school nursing component at national and international level and thus, to identify trends, key findings and areas that require further deepening or research within it; on the other hand, to analyze the impact of nursing in the school context in health promotion and disease prevention, evaluating its role in the detection and management of health problems, its contribution to health education and the barriers that limit its implementation such as: lack of resources on the one hand, and on the other hand, non-uniform regulation, which prevent full and effective coverage of school nursing services in all educational institutions. The work of the nursing staff in educational institutions not only benefits students, but also strengthens communication between families, teaching staff and the administrative team, generating safer and healthier spaces. In addition, the training of teachers and caregivers allows for more accurate detection of health risks and needs, which facilitates the implementation of prevention and integration programs with the health system that favor comprehensive and continuous care for the educational community.
Through the analysis of national and international regulations and literature, this study examines the impact of school nursing on primary health care, early identification of pathologies and education in healthy habits. It also analyzes the structural, political and administrative barriers that hinder the consolidation of this service within educational establishments.
The findings of this review show that school nursing plays a key role in reducing child and adolescent morbidity, optimizing the response to health emergencies and strengthening prevention strategies. Based on these results, actions aimed at the effective implementation of school nursing are proposed, guaranteeing its integration with the health system and the educational sector.
Ultimately, this project seeks not only to highlight the importance of nursing in the school setting, but also to advocate for its permanent and structured incorporation in educational institutions. In this way, it will contribute to the development of healthier generations, informed and prepared to face the challenges of each stage of their lives, while strengthening the community's capacity to respond to health and wellness needs.
