El propósito de este estudio de tipo cuantitativo con un alcance correlacional es analizar el desempeño del área de ginecología durante los periodos 2020-2024 en la fundación Liga nortesantandereana de lucha contra el cáncer seccional Cúcuta sede Caobos, teniendo como base de este estudio el análisis de los costos en los últimos 4 periodos; comparándose con el incremento del número de pacientes atendidos por la institución. Esto con el fin de encontrar el rendimiento real del área y su aporte al funcionamiento de la empresa. Este proyecto pretende dar una respuesta de tipo cuantitativa al nivel de afectación del rendimiento en el área ya sea debido a las externalidades o a una mala gestión interna de la institución
El análisis metodológico contempla tres niveles: la primera parte, consta de la descripción de la evolución de los costos y del volumen de citas en el periodo estudiado, la segunda, busca la aplicación de herramientas estadísticas para medir la relación entre ambas variables y establecer el peso real de la correlación, y la tercera, es la interpretación de los resultados con mira hacia la proyección del área, considerando no solo la posibilidad de aumentar las cifras, sino también la necesidad de optimizar la gestión de los costos, recurriendo a donaciones o implementando estrategias de mercadeo y visibilizarían institucional que puedan fortalecer su respaldo financiero
De esta manera el estudio no se limita a contar cuantos pacientes se atienden o cuanto dinero se pierde por cita, sino que también busca interpretar la tendencia que ha marcado el área a lo largo de los años, entendiendo como pequeñas variaciones en el numero de atenciones generar cambios significativos en su utilidad, y como estos resultados buscan la necesidad de replantear la gestión de los costos o de buscar una fuente de alternativas para si obtener recursos. Analizar estos datos permitirá identificar el verdadero aporte del área de Ginecología a la sostenibilidad de la institución y proyectar escenarios realistas.

Abstract
The purpose of this quantitative, correlational study is to analyze the performance of the gynecology department during the 2020–2024 period at the Liga Nortesantandereana de Lucha Contra el Cáncer Foundation, Cúcuta branch, Caobos location. The study is based on the analysis of costs over the last four periods, compared with the increase in the number of patients treated by the institution. The aim is to determine the real performance of the department and its contribution to the overall functioning of the organization. This project seeks to provide a quantitative assessment of the impact on the department’s performance, whether due to external factors or internal mismanagement within the institution.
The methodological analysis is structured in three levels: the first involves describing the evolution of costs and the volume of consultations during the study period; the second focuses on applying statistical tools to measure the relationship between both variables and establish the actual weight of the correlation; and the third consists of interpreting the results with a view toward projecting the department’s future, considering not only the possibility of increasing figures, but also the need to optimize cost management, rely on donations, or implement marketing and institutional visibility strategies that may strengthen its financial support.
The study is not limited to counting how many patients are attended or how much money is lost per consultation, but rather seeks to interpret the trend the department has shown over the years, understanding how small variations in the number of consultations generate significant changes in its profitability, and how these results highlight the need to reconsider cost management or to seek alternative sources of funding. Analyzing this data will make it possible to identify the true contribution of the gynecology department to the sustainability of the institution and to project realistic scenarios.
