Apropiación del Sonsureño y Sanjuanito aplicados en un contexto jazzístico en dos composiciones y un arreglo

Resumen

El objetivo general de este proyecto es realizar 2 composiciones para formato banda (saxo, batería, bajo y guitarra) y un arreglo para guitarra solista de temas tradicionales del Sonsureño y el Sanjuanito respectivamente, fusionando a partir de ellos el lenguaje propio de la música de la región en conjunto con la improvisación propia del jazz. Para lograr el objetivo se realizó una investigación previa en la que se incluyeron transcripciones de obras tradicionales y entrevistas que fueron base para el trabajo hecho con las composiciones y el arreglo. Con el resultado se tenía previsto realizar un contraste entre las dos composiciones, ambas trabajadas sobre el género “Sonsureño”, una más ligada hacia lo tradicional que lleva el título “Matituy” y otra más ligada a lo experimental titulada “El Derrandado” escritas para formato cuarteto. El arreglo se trabajó sobre el genero “Sanjuanito”, se escogió una obra llamada “Cantares de Lina” de autor desconocido sobre la cual se realizaron re armonizaciones, contrapuntos y variaciones sin perder el carácter principal de la pieza. El fin de este proyecto desde un principio fue trabajar sobre músicas colombianas, en este caso las de la región de Nariño fusionándolas con secciones de improvisación, vamps, unísonos, armonías de color y re armonización sobre funciones de acordes, ítems característicos en el jazz.

Abstract

The general objective of this project is to make 2 compositions for band format (sax, drums, bass and guitar) and an arrangement for solo guitar of traditional songs of Sonsureño and Sanjuanito respectively, fusing from them the language of the music of the region in conjunction with jazz's own improvisation. To achieve the objective, a previous investigation was carried out in which transcriptions of traditional works and interviews were included, which were based on the work done with the compositions and the arrangement. With the result, a contrast is foreseen between the two parties, which worked on the "Sonsureño" genre, one more linked to the traditional that has the title "Matituy" and another one linked to the experimental called "The Derrandado" written for Quartet format The arrangement was made on the genre "Sanjuanito", a work called "Cantares de Lina" by an unknown author was chosen, on which re­harmonizations, counterpoints and variations were made without losing the main character of the piece the aim of this project from the beginning was to work on Colombian music’s, in this case those of the Nariño region merging them with sections of improvisation, vamps, unison, harmonies of color and re harmonization on chord functions, characteristic items in jazz.
