Resumen
The present work is a narrative review in spanish and english during the period between 2009 and 2018, which aims to describe the current state of peripartum cardiomyopathy and its relationship with echocardiography and genetic tests, by investigating the physiopathology, etiology and prevalence.
In this case, the articles were obtained from a bibliographic search in medical databases, the search in the different databases yielded us a result of 1546 articles, after this four filters were applied: the first year: 2009 to 2018 english and spanish language, species: human, the second filter, type of publication, the third type of study and the fourth if it responds or not to our research question, to obtain a total of 21 articles which were analyzed.
It is concluded that peripartum cardiomyopathy (MCP) remains a pathology difficult to diagnose, follow up and treatment.
The new articles were reviewed to the date, about the clinical characteristics and the diagnostic through the echocardiogram and the genetic tests are reviewed, it was concluded that the detection of the TTN gene could have great value when talking about diagnostic, classification, counseling and management more specific to women at risk but at the same time it is important the echocardiogram since this gold standard test at this time for diagnostic and has important prognosis in the clinical evolution related to echocardiography criteria.

El presente trabajo es una revisión narrativa en español y en inglés durante el periodo comprendido entre los años 2009 y 2018, que tiene como objetivo describir el estado actual de la miocardiopatía periparto y su relación diagnóstica con el ecocardiograma transtorácico y las pruebas genéticas, mediante la investigación de la fisiopatología, etiología y prevalencia.
En este caso se obtuvieron los artículos a partir de una búsqueda bibliográfica en bases de datos médicas, la búsqueda en las diferentes bases de datos nos arrojó un resultado de 1546 artículos, posterior a esto se aplicó cuatro filtros: el primero años: 2009 a 2018, idioma inglés y español, especie: humana, el segundo filtro, tipo de publicación, el tercero tipo de estudio y el cuarto si responde o no a nuestra pregunta investigativa, para obtener un total de 21 artículos los cuales fueron analizados .
Se concluye que miocardiopatía periparto (MCP) sigue siendo una patología de difícil diagnóstico, seguimiento y tratamiento. Se revisan los nuevos estudios hasta las fecha sobre las características clínicas y el diagnóstico por medio del ecocardiograma y las pruebas genéticas, se concluyó que la detección del gen TTN podría tener gran valor a la hora de hablar sobre diagnóstico, clasificación, asesoramiento y manejo más específicos de las mujeres en riesgo, pero a la vez es importante el ecocardiograma puesto que esta prueba gold standard en este momento para el diagnóstico y tiene importancia pronóstico en la evolución clínica relacionado a los criterios ecocardiográficos.
