Resumen
La presente investigación se centró en la planta de tratamiento de agua potable “La Laja”, del municipio de Nocaima, Cundinamarca, pues el agua que reciben los beneficiarios del tratamiento presenta variabilidad en las propiedades organolépticas. Adicionalmente, el sistema para la vigilancia de la calidad del agua potable, reporta que, el índice de riesgo por abastecimiento de agua potable en el municipio posee un valor alto. Lo anterior motivó a que la investigación tuviese como objetivo “plantear una propuesta técnica de optimización de la PTAP “La Laja” para mejorar la calidad del agua potable en el municipio de Nocaima Cundinamarca”. Por lo cual se realizaron pruebas de los parámetros fisicoquímicos y microbiológicos del agua en todos los procesos unitarios, encuestas a los usuarios, visitas a la planta para identificar problemas infraestructurales y de operación y el cálculo del IRABApp. Entre los resultados más importantes están: El agua en el tanque de almacenamiento y distribución incumple el valor para los parámetros de turbiedad y coliformes fecales que determina la resolución 2115 de 2007. La planta trabaja fuera de su capacidad en épocas de lluvia y hay poca capacidad de gestión por parte del municipio. Por lo tanto se planteó optimizar los procesos de coagulación y floculación; así como el mejoramiento del sistema bypass y la implementación de indicadores de la IWA para mejorar la gestión por parte de la empresa y el municipio en la potabilización de agua.

Abstract
This research focused on the “La Laja” drinking water treatment plant, in the municipality of Nocaima, Cundinamarca, since the water received by the beneficiaries of the treatment presents variability in the organoleptic properties. In addition, the system for monitoring the quality of drinking water, report, the risk index for drinking water supply, in the municipality has a high value. This led to the objective of the investigation "to propose a technical proposal for optimization of the PTAP "La Laja" to improve the quality of drinking water in the municipality of Nocaima Cundinamarca". Therefore, tests of the physicochemical and microbiological parameters of water are carried out in all unit processes, user surveys, visits to the plant to identify infrastructure and operation problems and the calculation of the IRABApp. Among the most important results are: The water in the storage and distribution tank includes the value for the turbidity parameters and fecal coliforms that determine resolution 2115 of 2007. The plant works outside its capacity in times of rain and there is little capacity of management by the municipality. Therefore, the optimization of coagulation and flocculation processes was considered; as well as the improvement of the bypass system and the implementation of IWA indicators to improve the management by the company and the municipality in water purification.
