Ítem Evaluación de la producción de metano en la digestión anaerobia de la especie invasora Retamo espinoso y el residuo agrícola rastrojo de maíz mediante el uso de un biorreactor Batch.(Universidad El Bosque) Simbaqueva Aguilera, Aura Marcela; Urrego León, María Alejandra; Arias Duque, Jhon FredyThe purpose of this research was to assess the methane production from the anaerobic digestion of the invasive species retamo espinoso (Ulex Europeaus) and the agricultural residue corn straw (Zea Mays) using a Batch bioreactor. During the development of the experimental phase, some operation parameters of the bioreactor were adjusted, subsequently the substrate and inoculum were characterized in terms of solids, NT, organic N, humidity, pH, COD, AGV and alkalinity. Once the characterization was done, the anaerobic digestion process started in the bioreactor, variables such as the temperature, pH, biogas and methane concentration were monitored daily. Also, at the beginning and end of each run, tests of COD, VFA and alkalinity were carried out. The anaerobic digestion process lasted 19 days for each test performed (Inculum, corn straw and retamo espinoso), the temperature was approximately 35°C, and the pH remained in a range of 6,7-7,8, the highest percentage of methane was obtained in the biodegradation of the retamo espinoso, which was 87,10%, with concentrations of 2688,7 mg/L and 3086,91 mg/L of biogas and methane respectively, the same as the most significant removal of VFA and SV with a removal percentage of 70.93% in VFA and 77.30% of SV. In this way, the optimal methane production was obtained by the anaerobic digestion of the retamo espinoso and digested sludge as an alternative energy source for rural areas of Colombia.
