Ítem Descripción de marcadores de senescencia eritrocitaria: revisión narrativa(Universidad El Bosque, 2020) Mena Acevedo, Jorge Felipe; Valencia Serna, Jorge AndresClassically, a life expectancy of 120 days is attributed to GR, however, there is evidence that supports GR's ability to modify its life expectancy according to physiological and / or pathological processes. Therefore, it is possible to identify the established methods to estimate red cell senescence, establish the conditions that modify the red cell life cycle and specify advantages and disadvantages of the methods. For this narrative review, a search of the available literature in the Cochrane and Medline databases was performed using the keywords and selecting 45 articles. It allowed to identify processes such as eryptosis or neocitolisis, as well as markers and marking methods, to verify erythrocyte senescence. Once finding markers (Cr51, Tc99, biotin, CDs, proteomics, among others) and the method with the most evidence, flow cytometry each with advantages and disadvantages. In the current literature, there is no evidence to support the use of one method over another, nor to compare the diagnostic performance among them, which does not allow considering a GS in erythrocyte senescence marking and it is necessary to promote research for the standardization of a method.
