Ítem Adherencia de padres y cuidadores a recomendaciones sobre la práctica de sueño seguro en niños menores de un año(Universidad El Bosque) Diaz Triana, Jorge Andres; Sanchez Moreno, Paula Andrea; Viveros Jiménez, Viviana Paola; Williams Merchán, Karen; Ramos, NicolásThe Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) covers broad themes importance in public health, among which risk factors should be highlighted, which are useful as a tool in prevention strategies that save a large number of childhood deaths every day. This research presents the results of the adherence of a group of parents and caregivers to the recommendations on safe sleep, this adherence being understood as the practice of the recommendations of safe sleep, which have an impact on the extrinsic factors predisposing to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, as this is an event of interest in public health that affects both the child population and their parents. The present study is of an analytical, prospective, longitudinal type. Which includes an educational session that will be held for parents and / or caregivers of children under a year of age who attend an institution that provides first-rate health services, in which the concept, characteristics, and risk factors of SIDS and the recommendations issued by both the Colombian Pediatric Society and the American Pediatric Society. The data was collected in an Excel database and processed in the SPSS statistical program to carry out the analysis of the results, which will be presented using absolute and relative frequencies, and the statistical analysis will be carried out using analysis of variances. To demonstrate compliance with the objectives proposed in this, the results have been analyzed on the SurveyMonkey page, which were obtained by conducting parent surveys and / or caregivers of children under one year of age to measure the knowledge on the subject of SIMS. Additionally, the analysis of the two proposed surveys is carried out, which allows us to assess the effectiveness of the strategy proposed for the prevention of SIMS and the difficulties presented during said activity in order to know the degree of adherence to safe practices taught by parents. and caregivers, as SIMS is such an impressive event for families in formation. An infant dies suddenly and unexpectedly every day in Colombia, a figure that draws attention considering that it can be significantly reduced with the so-called "Safe Sleep Practices" recommended by the Colombian Society of Pediatrics (SCP). Based on this, this study was carried out with the aim of evaluating whether in Colombia, as in other studies such as those of the American Pediatric Society and other Latin American organizations, it was possible to impact risk factors in SIMS by educating parents and caregivers .
