Ítem Influencia de las redes sociales en los patrones de consumo de estudiantes de la Universidad El Bosque(2023-11-27) Diaz Ussa, Daniel Felipe; Borges Ochoa, Diogo; Cendales Ayala, Boris ErnestoPurpose: The purpose of this correlational study is to associate overexposure to social networks with consumption patterns in university students. Methodology: This is a cross-sectional correlational study based on self-report questionnaires with information collected from university students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the Universidad El Bosque. Findings: It was found that there is a positive association between the use of Instagram and TikTok with compulsive shopping, the use of these networks and spending in physical establishments. However, there is no association between social network use and volume of online or physical shopping. Implications: The results of this study are useful in highlighting the effectiveness of marketing strategies based on the use of social media. However, educational institutions should be aware of the consequences of overexposure to social media on student's mental health.
