The first step of the intervention for the psychological rehabilitation of sports injury is the
attention to the athlete during the first 72 hours after the injury. The objective of this project was
to make a proposal for the design of a crisis care protocol for sports injuries, directed by the first
respondent during training or competition. The purpose of the protocol is to offer a series of
recommendations about the actions that must be taken into account by people who perform the
role of first responder in situations of sports injury; was elaborated according to the model of
attention in crisis of Hernández and Gutiérrez (2014) and Slaikew (1996), defining the key
application moments of the injuries and crises, environmental and contextual conditions. Through
the Delphi method, ten expert judges were subjected to the judgment of those who reviewed the
manual through the protocol and about relevant aspects from the theoretical model to the
instructions and examples; Subsequently, each evaluation carried out by the judges was
transcribed and analyzed through the SPSS and Atlas Ti programs.
