Resumen
Este proyecto de investigación – creación explora las características estilísticas
del bebop, adaptándolo al estilo rítmico del bambuco, por medio de una composición y
dos arreglos de temas representativos del bebop, involucrando elementos del lenguaje
de Charlie Parker. La idea de este trabajo es simplificar la aproximación al bebop por
medio de las formas extendidas y los tempos más lentos del bambuco. Dinamizando así
el aprendizaje del bebop desde una sonoridad más cercana al músico colombiano.
Para lograr este objetivo se investigó, mediante un proceso de análisis de
partituras y transcripciones musicales, algunos bambucos y solos de bebop del
compositor Charlie Parker, con el fin de extraer elementos y recursos característicos de
ambos géneros. También se realizaron entrevistas que ayudaron a complementar la
información de la ejecución instrumental en el bambuco.
Como resultado se obtuvieron dos arreglos de los temas Bebop de “Dizzy
Gillespie”, Dexterity de “Charlie Parker” y una composición propia titulada Mudanzas,
en donde se involucraron las características musicales extraídas durante la etapa de
investigación. Adicionalmente se realizó la creación de un solo para cada obra,
pretendiendo resaltar los matices del bambuco andino.

Abstract
This research-creation project explores the stylistic characteristics of bebop,
adapting it to the rhythmic style of bambuco, through a composition and two
arrangements of representative bebop themes, involving elements of Charlie Parker's
language. The idea of this work is to simplify the approach to bebop through the
extended forms and slower tempos of bambuco. Thus dynamizing the learning of bebop
from a sonority closer to the Colombian musician.
To achieve this objective, through a process of analysis of musical scores and
transcriptions, some bambucos and bebop solos by composer Charlie Parker were
investigated in order to extract characteristic elements and resources of both genres.
Interviews were also conducted to complement the information on the instrumental
execution of bambuco.
As a result, two arrangements of the themes Bebop by "Dizzy Gillespie",
Dexterity by "Charlie Parker" and an own composition titled Mudanzas were obtained,
where the musical characteristics extracted during the research stage were involved.
Additionally, a solo was created for each piece, aiming to highlight the nuances of the
Andean bambuco.
