dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo construir un zoocriadero cerrado de lepidópteros en Chía, Cundinamarca, que permita el desarrollo de mariposas en un ambiente controlado en las instalaciones del Centro de Biosistemas de la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. Para tal fin se diseñó y construyó el mariposario con un área aproximada de 24,6 m2, produciendo el material vegetal hospedero y nectarífero, el cual, determina el ciclo de vida de las mariposas; así mismo, se adecuó el espacio con elementos estéticos y funcionales como una fuente de agua, un sendero y comederos de frutas y bebederos de néctar armonizando el ambiente del recinto. Por último, se desarrolló un sistema de monitoreo de temperatura y humedad relativa y control de temperatura, siendo estas, las variables físicas críticas para su mantenimiento en condiciones de la Sabana de Bogotá.spa
dc.description.abstractThe objective of this work was to build a closed Lepidoptera breeding farm in Chía, Cundinamarca, which allows the development of butterflies in a controlled environment in the facilities of the Biosystems Center of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. For this purpose, the butterfly garden was designed and built with an approximate area of 24.6 m2, producing the host and nectariferous plant material, which determines the life cycle of the butterflies; also, the space was adapted with aesthetic and functional elements such as a water source, a path and fruit feeders and nectar feeder harmonizing the environment of the enclosure. Finally, a system of temperature and relative humidity monitoring and temperature control was developed, these being the critical physical variables for its maintenance under the conditions of the Sabana de Bogotá. It was found that the initial temperature of the butterfly ranged between 4 ° C and 26 ° C. By incorporating the control system and making adjustments to the initial design, it was possible to maintain the adequate environmental conditions for the survival of the butterflies, by keeping the temperature range between 10 ° C-35 ° C, humidity between 45,3 % -100% and have different host plants linked to several species of butterflies. Based on the results, the breeding farm will allow the future adaptation of the butterflies for final pupose of the Center, by encouraging agroecological tourism and incorporate the breeding farm to the workshops and training courses in applied biology, biological control and agroecology provided by the Entomology Laboratory.spa
