Resumen
Del piano a la Big Band es un proyecto de investigación-creación, que explora a partir de cinco composiciones la sonoridad del pasillo de la región andina colombiana desde el piano solista y su posterior transformación al lenguaje de Big Band . El objetivo de este proyecto es generar material musical que permita la diversificación del repertorio de estos géneros. para el formato de Big Band, aspecto que será muy importante para el desarrollo de estos ritmos en nuevos espacios de circulación y divulgación. Para el desarrollo de este proyecto se trabajo a partir de las características musicales que definen el género del pasillo de la región andina colombiana ,a partir del análisis y el conocimiento de sus construcciones melódicas, rítmicas, armónicas, estructurales y tímbricas. El resultado de estos análisis marcaron caminos que al mismo tiempo abrieron la puerta para entrar a generar nuevos procesos creativos y de transformación, donde a partir de estos, se proponen diferentes discursos musicales que contienen conexiones con otros lenguajes sonoros .“Teniendo en una mano el conocimiento tradicional y en la otra la inquietud por la búsqueda y la experimentación con nuevos elementos” (Berlanga, 1997). Dentro de los productos de este proyecto encontramos cinco obras que están originalmente escritas para piano y el proceso de transformación de cada una al lenguaje de Big Band. Abstract
From the piano to the Big Band is a research-creation project, which explores from five compositions the sonority of the pasillo of the Colombian Andean region from the solo piano and its subsequent transformation to the Big Band language. The objective of this project is to generate musical material that allows the diversification of the repertoire of these genres for the Big Band format, an aspect that will be very important for the development of these rhythms in new spaces of circulation and dissemination. For the development of this project we worked from the musical characteristics that define the pasillo genre of the Colombian Andean region, from the analysis and knowledge of its melodic, rhythmic, harmonic, structural and timbre constructions. The result of these analyses marked paths that at the same time opened the door to enter to generate new creative and transformation processes, where from these, different musical discourses that contain connections with other sound languages are proposed. "Having in one hand the traditional knowledge and in the other the restlessness for the search and the experimentation with new elements" (Berlanga, 1997). Within the products of this project we find five works that are originally written for piano and the process of transformation of each one to the Big Band language.
