Resumen
Ataco, municipio ubicado al sur del departamento del Tolima, cuenta con diversas manifestaciones culturales, la teatralidad hace parte de estas manifestaciones, esta investigación trata de indagar e identificar los elementos teatrales que se encuentran en el festival del retorno, fiesta que se celebra desde hace más de cien años y que se caracteriza porque cuenta la historia de Pericles, que representa al campesino Atacuno que recorre el río Saldaña para encontrar prosperidad. Curiosamente los demás personajes que intervienen en la representación tienen herencias indígenas que se encuentran en los mitos y leyendas de la población que se mixturo y transformó con los colonos españoles que llegaron al territorio. Como muchas de las fiestas que se desarrollan en el país se encuentran elementos teatrales que son los que se quieren destacar en este texto y así preservar la cultura de esta comunidad. Elementos como el vestuario, personajes, narrativa y puesta en escena. Por lo tanto, esta investigación invita al lector a acercarse a esta comunidad del Tolima poco conocida.

Abstract
Ataco, a municipality located in the south of the department of Tolima, has various cultural manifestations, theatricality is part of these, this research tries to investigate and identify the theatrical elements found in the festival of return, a festival that has been celebrated for more than a hundred years and that is characterized because it tells the story of Pericles, which represents the peasant Atacuno who travels the Saldaña River to find prosperity. Curiously, the other characters involved in the representation have indigenous heritages that are found in the myths and legends of the population that mixed and transformed with the Spanish settlers who arrived in the territory. Like many of the festivals that take place in the country, there are theatrical elements that are what we want to highlight in this text and thus preserve the culture of this community. Elements such as costumes, characters, narrative and staging. Therefore, this research invites the reader to approach this little-known Tolima community.
