Resumen
En la actualidad las prácticas insostenibles asociadas a la actividad ganadera han generado que el sector hace varios años presente un crecimiento económico desigual, transformaciones socioculturales y desequilibrios ecosistémicos. Estas prácticas insostenibles se encuentran asociadas al sistema de explotación convencional desarrollando en Colombia y particularmente en Cundinamarca, el cual entre otra cosas, dada a su gran dependencia a las variaciones climáticas, ha venido afectando la seguridad alimentaria de las familias productoras y de quienes se abastecen del producto, haciendo necesaria desde las diferentes áreas del conocimiento a generar alternativas que encaminen este sistema altamente desfavorable, social, ecológica y económicamente a un sistema eficiente, rentable y en pro de la conservación de los recursos naturales. Es así como desde la Ingeniería Ambiental, siendo una disciplina holística, se logren solucionar los problemas ocasionados por el hombre. La ganadería es considerada como un renglón socioeconómico de gran importancia en el desarrollo del país, por tanto, desde la agroecología se busca que estos sistemas sean altamente productivos a partir de cambios en las prácticas de explotación. Por consiguiente, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo, formular una propuesta agroecológica para un sistema de producción ganadero lechero, de acuerdo a algunas variables ecológicas, sociales y económicas. Estudio de caso: Finca Villa Mariela, Vereda La Plazuela, Municipio de Cogua – Cundinamarca, en donde a partir de un diagnóstico ambiental del estado actual del sistema por medio de entrevistas, visitas a campo, toma de muestras y recolección de información secundaria, se evalúan alternativas para poder estructurar un sistema agroecológico que proporcione sostenibilidad al actual en la Finca Villa Mariela.
